NEW: The master Erasmus Mundus PhoenixEM is also available for European (and French) students. They will receive specific monthly grants for the two years.

The Master is a full two years master, requiring 120 ECTS.

The Master delivered in Paris is a Master in Social Sciences (option Health, population, social policies), in Evora University/Lisbon (Portuguese National School of Public Health) the Mestrado em Políticas de Bem-Estar em Perspectiva: Evolução, Conceitos e Actores,, in Linkoping it is a Master of Arts and Science in Health and Society; in Barcelona it is a Master in Health and Community Welfare.

In order to acquire 36 of the total 120 ECTS, students must participate in two intensive weeks plus one full semester of mobility in one of the universities other than the main university.

The language of teaching is French in Paris, Spanish in Barcelona, Portuguese and English in Evora (but Spanish will be accepted for examination), English in Linköping. The masters thesis will be written in English, French, Spanish or Portuguese (with a twenty-page abstract in English or in French for the two latter choices). English is required as a fluent level and another language (French, Spanish and Portuguese) will be necessary to be selected. Classes in the local language will be organized to favour a better integration of the students.

The selection of students will be based on their academic backgrounds, on a possible double bachelor, on the students overall excellence (marks and ranking), on the quality and originality of the students objectives and scientific merit of the research project. In addition to the double masters degree, students will be awarded a supplement diploma, indicating the title of each module, the marks obtained and the final global ranking.

PhoenixEM Dynamics of Health and Welfare offers a unique academic experience, including exchanges between universities, lectures, seminars, working groups and tutorials, and the benefits of the complementary expertise among members of the Consortium, enriched by the invited scholars from other partner European academic institutions and by invited scholars from the whole world.

Teaching will be done by internationally-recognized scholars with extensive records of high quality publication. The broad definition of the field and the close integration across disciplines will make this Masters unique in Europe and in the world.

The students will be tutored personally and welcome by a special international office. A special help will concern the housing and daily life conditions and integration, including a special attention to married students, child care facilities and disable students.
